MWC Barcelona 2025 unveils 6 conference themes

Organisers of Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025 – the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event – have unveiled the six conference themes of the upcoming edition, grouped under the overarching theme ‘Converge. Connect. Create.’
The key themes encompass ‘Inside 5G’, ‘Connect X’, ‘AI+’, ‘Enterprise Reinvented’, ‘Game Changers’, and ‘Digital DNA’.
GSMA will host MWC Barcelona from March 3 to 6, 2025, featuring the world’s most prominent industry leaders, innovators, and policymakers.
The 2025 edition’s groundbreaking themes present innovative perspectives on work and connectivity, opening up new avenues for transformation and growth.
Attendees will explore 5G’s full potential, mainly Release 17’s advancements, which promise to revolutionise networks, generate new revenue streams, and offer cost-saving solutions.
Building secure and sustainable networks is essential as the number of IoT devices is expected to reach 15 billion by 2027. MWC will feature cutting-edge connectivity solutions and partnerships for a seamless, connected world.
Generative AI will also take centre stage, showcasing its ability to optimise networks and personalise user experiences. Participants will gain insights into practical AI, cloud, and blockchain applications that enhance enterprise speed and resilience.
Emerging technologies like quantum computing and extended reality will reshape industries, providing crucial insights for staying ahead. MWC Barcelona 2025 will emphasise sustainability, diversity, and ethics, aligning businesses with values essential for thriving in a conscious digital age.
MWC Barcelona 2024
MWC Barcelona 2024 was a resounding success, with over 101,000 unique in-person attendees from 205 countries and territories. More than 59% of these attendees represented industries adjacent to the core mobile ecosystem. The event featured over 2,700 exhibitors, sponsors, and partners, alongside over 1,100 speakers and thought leaders, of whom over 40% were female.
Among the attendees, 51% held director-level positions or higher, with 21% being C-Suite executives. Additionally, 26% of the attendees were female, and over 2,600 journalists and industry analysts attended from around the globe, showcasing the event’s diverse and inclusive nature.
The GSMA Ministerial Programme convened over 180 delegations from 140 countries, including two heads of state, more than 70 ministers, nearly 120 heads of regulatory authorities, and over 40 intergovernmental organisations.
The 4YFN programme celebrated its 10th anniversary, attracting 930 exhibitors, 450 speakers, and over 1,000 investors with a total of €50 billion in collective funds. MWC Barcelona has been certified carbon neutral for the past 10 years. For the 2024 edition, the complimentary public transport pass increased by 42% compared to 2023, demonstrating the GSMA’s unwavering commitment to minimising the event’s environmental footprint.
With thousands of participants and numerous live demonstrations, MWC is a critical platform for exploring the future of industries and societies. The event continues to drive growth and innovation in technology.
