Exeed to launch Exlantix EV in UAE in Q1 2025

A new hybrid model also lined up

Exeed, the premium automotive brand of China’s Chery Automotive Group, is poised to enter the fast-growing and increasingly competitive electric vehicle (EV) market in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by introducing its Exlantix EV series in the first quarter of 2025.

The targeted entry of Exeed’s Exlantix ET and Exlantix ES EV models comes as the Arabian Gulf nation—one of the world’s largest oil producers—aims to reduce its substantial carbon emissions as part of a nationwide decarbonisation initiative.

The Exlantix ET and Exlantix ES sedans, each a marvel of cutting-edge technology, are designed to offer an advanced driving experience and will be available in the UAE market as a pure electric version and an option with REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle) technology, capable of exceeding 1,100km on a single charge.

The Exlantix range made its first public debut in 2024 at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, which was hosted by Adsale Group from April 25 to May 4.

The two Exlantix models boast an advanced battery protection system that has been rigorously tested, including 48-hour battery immersion in water and high-speed crash tests. This ensures the vehicles meet and exceed the highest safety standards, providing a sleek, eco-conscious driving experience with added peace of mind.

RX PHEV

Alongside the Exlantix EV series, Exeed is gearing up to introduce a new hybrid model, the RX PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) in 2025.

This plug-in hybrid combines electric power with a traditional internal combustion engine (ICE), offering a range of up to 1,300km and enhanced 4WD capabilities for unique driving stability and traction control. With a strong focus on fuel efficiency and low emissions, the RX PHEV is designed to attract eco-conscious drivers who value performance and environmental responsibility.

Exeed currently markets four ICE vehicles in the UAE—the VX, TX, LX, and RX—and is hosting various marketing promotions across the country to popularise the brand.

Having outgrown their home market and to thwart intense domestic competition, Chinese automotive manufacturers are increasingly targeting UAE residents with affordable, feature-rich ICE and electric vehicles. As of 2024, Chinse brands like MG, Geely, and BYD have captured a significant share of the UAE market. Their vehicles offer advanced features at lower prices, appealing to cost-conscious buyers who traditionally look at buying South Korea’s Hyundai or Kia vehicles.

The rise of electric vehicle (EV) offerings, including models from over ten Chinese companies, has positioned China as a key player in the UAE’s growing EV market. Chinese brands now dominate nearly 3% of new car sales, and the trend shows no signs of slowing as more models flood the UAE.

Dubai-based Al Ghurair Motors is the Exeed distributor in the UAE.
