Only 2 Days Left to Spread Kindness! Join the 2024 Zayed Charity Run at Erth Abu Dhabi!

The clock is ticking for serious athletes, fun runners, families and fitness enthusiasts to register to take part in the 2024 edition of the annual Zayed Charity Run at Erth, Abu Dhabi, which will be held on Saturday 23 November.

First launched in 2001 to honour the blessed memory of the UAE’s Founding Father, His Late Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the iconic event aligns with the UAE’s vision of spreading humanity and giving.

The 2024 annual Zayed Charity Run will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra region, and is organised in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, which plays a vital role in supporting and organising impactful sports and charitable events in the emirate and UAE.

The Zayed Charity Run is encouraging runners of all levels to join this momentous occasion and organisers have once again set up tracks including a family-friendly 3km track, a 5km intermediate level track, and a 10km advanced level track for the super fit.

This year, the donations will be dedicated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an NGO dedicated to better the lives of people living with MS and their communities in the UAE through education, advocacy and advancing global efforts to finding a cure for MS.

Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, said: “We are so proud that Zayed Charity Run has been a force for good since its inception in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him since 2001.

“We now have well-established Zayed Charity Runs in Abu Dhabi, New York, and Egypt, attracting a growing number of participants inspired by the event’s noble mission, with plans to expand to many other countries soon.

“All participants are welcomed with open arms, and we look forward to many more joining on the side-lines to cheer their family and friends to the finishing line on the big day. I am also delighted that all proceeds from the event will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which provides essential support to empower individuals with multiple sclerosis through awareness, advocacy, and efforts to find a cure.”

Participants will need to register latest by Friday, 22 November or sooner. Parking and shuttle services will be provided at Wahat Al Karama from 4:00 to 5:30 AM and at Zayed Sports City from 4:00 to 6:30 AM. Roads will be closed at 6:00 AM.

The first category event will start at 7am and participants are advised to arrive at least 2 hours early and it is recommended to collect the race pack in advance as race packs will not be available for collection on the day of the event.
