TEAM CUP ENTERTAINMENT AND ELEVATED TICKET OPTIONS OFFER GOLF FANS PERFECT COMPLEMENT TO ON-COURSE ACTION
Golf fans can enjoy the excitement of the Team Cup in style when Continental Europe face Great Britain & Ireland at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort next month courtesy of an action-packed entertainment schedule and soon-to-be-launched Team Social package.
The team match play event, which pits Francesco Molinari’s Continental Europe against Justin Rose’s Great Britain & Ireland, will be the perfect way to kick off the New Year’s action and a chance for Team Europe to test their match play skills ahead of the 2025 Ryder Cup, which will be hosted at Bethpage Black, Farmingdale, New York, from September 23-28, 2025.
Fans attending the Team Cup can enjoy top class musical entertainment after the final putts have dropped throughout the three-day event, starting with hugely popular Irish singer Rory McGettigan on the opening Friday (January 10).
Performing a selection of classics from some of his idols, including Bruce Springsteen, Oasis, Coldplay and Vance Joy, McGettigan proved a huge hit at the recent DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
On Saturday (January 11), Shades of Jade take centre stage with their seamless fusion of jazz, pop, funk and party classics.
Another Irish favourite, singer-guitarist The Dazzler, will be the final-day (January 12) headliner after the title has been decided on the nearby 18th green, with his special brand of crowd-pleasing singalongs.
Those spectators heading to Abu Dhabi Golf Resort can soon take advantage of the ‘Team Social’ package, which provides three hours of free-flowing refreshments, including grape, hops, grains and soft drinks.
The package, costing AED 225 and on sale from December 21, runs from 2-5pm every day of the event with the drinks available from the Team Cup Spectator Village bar and stalls on the 15th and 17th greens.
Across all three days, there is also a special Ryder Cup Trophy activation in the Village, trickshot shows, a kids zone, and ‘Get into Golf’ sessions each day.
The on-course Team Cup action promises to be enthralling with both teams represented by three players boasting Ryder Cup experience. Molinari, with three appearances to his name, is joined in the Continental Europe team by Nicolai Højgaard and Thorbjørn Olesen, while Rose, who has competed at six Ryder Cups, will be playing alongside Dubai resident Tommy Fleetwood and Tyrrell Hatton.
As in 2023, the teams will compete in match play across one session of fourballs on the Friday, two sessions of foursomes on the Saturday, and one session of singles on the Sunday, with every player taking part in all four of the sessions. Each match will be worth one point, with the team crossing the 12½ point mark winning the Team Cup.
Fans are now able to register for free General Admission tickets for the Team Cup.
For those seeking a VVIP day at Abu Dhabi Golf Resort, the Trophy Lounge option is also available. Guests can enjoy five-star catering in a relaxed environment, inside the air-conditioned clubhouse or on the shaded viewing terrace. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea are provided in addition to a beverage package to suit all tastes.
The gates open at 9am on Friday and Sunday and 7am on Saturday, with the Spectator Village closing at 8.30pm each day.
