American Airlines supports passengers’ New Year’s resolutions

With health-focused dining and adventure travel

American Airlines is stepping up to help passengers stay on track with their 2025 New Year’s resolutions by offering a wide range of healthy dining options and new travel routes designed for fitness enthusiasts.

Whether you are committed to a fitness regime, eating healthier, or exploring the great outdoors, American Airlines has something to help you achieve your goals.

For those seeking to embrace adventure travel and connect with nature, American Airlines is expanding its routes to some of the most scenic destinations. On new flights to Halifax (YHZ) from Chicago (ORD), passengers can explore Nova Scotia’s Mi’kmaq Lands, where they can stargaze and marvel at the cosmos.

For hiking and glacier-viewing enthusiasts, American has launched new flights from New York (LGA) to Kalispell, Montana (FCA), and Calgary, Canada (YYC). Wildlife lovers can also travel to Bozeman, Montana (BZN), from LGA, to capture stunning pictures of animals in their natural habitats. Additionally, for those looking to relax with a peaceful nature experience, new flights to Quebec City (YQB) from Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) offer a tranquil retreat amid stunning autumn foliage.

For many, the start of the year also means committing to healthier lifestyle choices, and American Airlines is ready to support its customers’ dietary needs. For over thirty years, the airline has been catering to various special diets, serving a range of meals that meet specific nutritional requirements.

These include gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, vegetarian, diabetic, Muslim, Hindu, and kosher options. Given that around 30% of Americans avoid gluten and 15% choose dairy-free diets, American Airlines ensures everyone’s needs are met. The airline also provides a diverse selection of beverages, including oat milk creamer and La Croix Lime sparkling water, with customers able to pre-order their meals to ensure they get exactly what they need during their flight.

Remarkably, America serves more than one million meals each year that cater to these special diets, ensuring passengers enjoy nutritious and satisfying meals that support their health goals.

Kim Cisek, Vice President of Customer Experience at American Airlines, commented on the airline’s focus on health-conscious options: “Our health-forward dishes are made to taste great while also supporting fluid intake, aiding digestion, and being rich in nutrients. At American, we want our passengers to arrive at their final destinations feeling fulfilled and refreshed so they can enjoy whatever adventures lie ahead.”

American offers a range of mocktails in its Admirals Club lounges for those observing Dry January or simply seeking refreshing alcohol-free options. Options vary by location and include unique creations such as the Winter Citrus Sparkler, a blend of orange, grapefruit, and lime juices with rosemary; the Ginger Peach Nojito, combining mint, lime juice, ginger syrup, and peach puree; and the Turmeric Grapefruit Mule, with ginger beer, turmeric syrup, and grapefruit.

For an immune-boosting treat, passengers can enjoy the Elderberry Sparkler, featuring elderberry juice, ginger, and lemon. American also offers the popular non-alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewing in its lounges, making it the first major airline to serve this option since 2022. This choice has been well-received year-round, providing a refreshing alternative for those who prefer to skip the alcohol.

American Airlines’ commitment to helping customers maintain their New Year’s resolutions is evident in its expanded route offerings and thoughtful dining options. Whether you want to explore new destinations, stick to a healthy eating plan, or enjoy a dry January, American Airlines covers you for 2025 and beyond.
