This Ramadan, Bassam Freiha Art Foundation (BFAF) is hosting an array of complimentary art and culture-inspired community experiences, and everyone is welcome to join in and participate.
Moonlight Market
Taking place on March 14 and March 15 between 6pm and 11.30pm, the Moonlight Market at BFAF is set to be joyful celebration of art, culture, and creativity.
Featuring pop-up stalls from local artists, designers and creatives, guests are also invited to embrace their inner artist by taking part in a range of complimentary art workshops, while live performances from talented musicians elevate the festive atmosphere.
On the first day of the festival, the candle making workshop invites guests to have a go at creating their own personalized candle, customized with a choice of beautiful scents and colors. The neon painting session then presents a vibrant, glow-in-the-dark art class filled with bold colors, allowing everyone to craft electrifying artworks using the powers of UV lights.
Encouraging families to channel the energy of the mood and unleash their creativity, the Full Moon Workshop on March 15 will add another dose of hands-on fun. A guided session suitable for those of all levels, participants will paint a moon-shaped canvas, and learn how to create the textures of the moon through paint and various different techniques and materials.
Art workshops
In addition to the Moonlight Market, BFAF is also hosting many other artistic workshops throughout the month of Ramadan. Open until 10pm daily, the inspiring facility is the perfect place to relax after iftar and embrace the spirit of the holy month.
Hosted on March 20, the embroidery workshop will provide guests with an immersive journey through the history of embroidery techniques. Guided by an expert instructor, participants will learn how to master traditional and modern stitches, and experiment with patterns, textures, and colors to create their own striking textile artworks.
The BFAF Creative Contest
In addition to the market and workshops, budding artists are asked to submit their own unique interpretations of the BFAF building design as part of the foundation’s Creative Contest.
Judged by a prestigious panel, the contest provides a priceless chance for up-and-coming creatives to showcase their artistic talents.
