Ministry of Culture Grants Free Lifetime Public Library Memberships to Emirati Newborns

In celebration of Emirati Children’s Day, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) has announced granting free lifetime memberships to MOC-affiliated public libraries for newborn Emirati citizens. This initiative, introduced as part of the ‘Mabrouk Ma Yak’ service, aims to enhance MOC’s efforts to promote the culture of reading from an early age and facilitate access for children and parents to a wide range of cultural and educational resources, in alignment with the National Reading Month.
Through this initiative, MOC aims to instil a love of reading in children from an early age and strengthen the role of families in fostering knowledge and learning. This, in turn, contributes to building a well-informed and culturally enriched society capable of driving national development. By ensuring seamless access to a diverse collection of books and educational resources, the initiative empowers parents to nurture a reading culture within their homes, reinforcing the value of lifelong learning.
Emirati citizens can seamlessly activate this service using their Emirati ID through the ‘Usrati Bundle,’ an integrated, proactive platform that connects government services across various federal and local entities. Designed to support Emirati citizens in building their families and fulfilling their needs, the ‘Usrati Bundle’ eliminates the need for a separate application, reflecting MOC’s commitment to streamlining government procedures and enhancing accessibility in line with the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
MOC has issued over 100,000 memberships to its affiliate libraries for children, reaffirming its commitment to expanding access to knowledge and enriching cultural opportunities for future generations.
