Oman Cables and Ministry of Education Celebrate Graduation of 280 Future Omani Innovators in 2nd Edition of ‘Kids in STEM’ Initiative

Oman Cables Industry (OCI), the leading cable solutions provider in the Sultanate of Oman, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, celebrated the graduation of the 2nd edition of the ‘Kids in STEM’ initiative.

The graduation ceremony, held recently, was attended by Dr. Maya bint Saeed bin Khamis Al-Azriya, Advisor to the Minister of Education for Scientific Innovation, and Erkan Aydoğdu, CEO of Oman Cables Industry, alongside school management, students, and teachers.

Contributing towards the goals of Oman’s Vision 2040, the second edition of the ‘Kids in STEM’ initiative celebrated the graduation of 280 students, continuing its impactful presence at Al Tafawok Basic Education School, where students from Grades 1 to 4 participated throughout the academic year. This edition was also expanded to include Al Shamaail Basic Education School, where both students and teachers took part in a comprehensive, year-long STEM education program. The ceremony celebrated the students’ achievements and recognized the dedicated efforts of their teachers.

Ms. Zakia Al-Muqaimiya, Head of the Scientific Innovation Department at the Ministry of Education, said: The ‘Kids in STEM’ initiative reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with private sector for empowering a generation of creative thinkers and future innovators. By integrating STEM education from an early age, we are opening doors to opportunity, knowledge, and sustainable economic growth. Investing in local human capital is key to building an innovation-driven economy and achieving long-term national development.”
