From October 7-9, 2025
Dubai is set to host two major vertical aviation events from October 7-9, 2025, at Festival Arena, Dubai Festival City.
VertiExpo Dubai and DroneTech Dubai will run concurrently, offering a platform for industry players to present technologies from drones to eVTOL aircraft.
MEDIAC, organisers of the twin events, report that more than 150 exhibitors are expected at VertiExpo, representing global manufacturers, service providers and regulators. They include eVTOL and helicopter developers, UAV manufacturers, propulsion suppliers, MRO firms, navigation developers, infrastructure planners and robotics specialists.
From a regional perspective, Middle East countries are investing in advanced air mobility solutions. Markets in the UAE and surrounding Gulf nations are seen as key for vertical aviation due to rapid urbanisation, interest in smart city projects and government support for innovation.
Analysts estimate urban air mobility could become a multibillion-dollar market across the MENA region by the early 2030s.
Nations such as the UAE are advancing with infrastructure projects linked to flying taxis and drone services. For example, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has commissioned vertiport facilities in zones including the airport, Palm Jumeirah and Downtown.
US-based Joby Aviation has secured exclusive operations for air taxis in the UAE for over six years and plans demonstration flights in mid-2025, with a complete commercial network planned by 2026.
DroneTech Dubai focuses specifically on uncrewed aerial vehicles. It gathers companies and public bodies from the region and worldwide to showcase innovation in drone technology. Visitors will include emergency services, security agencies, agricultural tech firms, media, academia and defence sectors.
Middle East demand for drones in sectors like agriculture, surveying, security and logistics is rising. Governments are exploring regulatory frameworks to integrate UAV systems into industrial applications.
DroneTech’s concurrent timing with VertiExpo will support integrated discussions on how eVTOL, rotorcraft and drones can serve overlapping use cases such as air mobility, emergency response and urban logistics.
