Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Participates in Doha Forum on Educational Innovation and Knowledge-to-Practice Transformation

Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences, Forum on Educational Innovation and Knowledge-to-Practice Transformation, organized by the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States in collaboration with Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education. The event was held in Doha from 15–16 September 2025, alongside the ceremony honoring winners of the second edition of the Gulf Educational Datathon.

Representing the Foundation, Dr Mariam Al Ghawi, Director of Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Giftedness and Innovation,  joined the sixth session titled “Institutional Partnerships in Supporting Educational Innovation.” Dr. Al Ghawi emphasized the importance of moving educational projects from theoretical concepts to practical, implementable initiatives. She highlighted the pivotal role that institutional partnerships play in driving this transformation, citing pioneering Gulf examples of collaboration between education, the private sector, and incubators—such as specialized educational incubators like FABLAB.

“Educational innovation is not a passing slogan but an institutional practice grounded in scientific research and practical application,” Dr. Al Ghawi stated. She noted that the Gulf experience demonstrates how partnerships with the private sector and incubators strengthen educational identity, empower education systems to adapt to global changes, and preserve cultural authenticity. She further underlined the leading role of the Hamdan bin Rashid Foundation in fostering educational innovation through cultivating a culture of creativity, offering international awards as platforms of excellence, and investing in human capital via advanced training and capacity-building programs for teachers and education leaders.

The forum reaffirmed the significance of strengthening strategic partnerships and embracing innovative, applicable projects that contribute to the advancement of Gulf education, safeguard its authenticity, and align with the imperatives of modernization and global competitiveness.
