From Bazaar to Baithaks: BurJuman Mall Invites Families to Celebrate Jhilmil Diwali

This festive season, BurJuman Mall will shine brighter than ever with Jhilmil Diwali, a month-long celebration taking place from 26 September to 22 October 2025. More than a shopping destination, BurJuman is evolving into a cultural gathering place where families and communities can come together to celebrate one of the most beloved festivals of the year.

This year’s theme, Jhilmil meaning sparkling, radiant, and glowing, reflects every aspect of the campaign: customers, tenants, and the mall itself. Shoppers can look forward to vibrant décor, culturally rich experiences, and a rewarding festive promotion. For BurJuman, Jhilmil Diwali also symbolizes its own transformation journey, with refreshed spaces and a renewed atmosphere welcoming visitors.

At the heart of the campaign is the Spend & Win digital raffle, sponsored by SOUEAST UAE from the Elite Group Holding. Shoppers who spend AED 250 or more across the mall (excluding Carrefour and utilities) can enter for the chance to win a SOUEAST S06 Family Luxury SUV. Running for the full campaign duration, the raffle will crown one mega winner at the end of Diwali week.

From 1 to 20 October, Level 2 of the mall will host the Jhilmil Diwali Bazaar, featuring more than 20 kiosks with festive items including dry goods, home décor, artisanal gifts, and more. An archway entrance and themed décor will create a vibrant shopping atmosphere. Families can also join engaging cultural workshops in the main atrium including rangoli design, diya painting, lantern crafting, and henna art, making it an experience for all generations.

The cultural heartbeat of Jhilmil Diwali will be the Baithaks, introduced at BurJuman for the very first time. Every Saturday from 6 pm to 9 pm, the mall will host intimate live performances featuring sitar, tabla, ghazals, festive mashups and Bollywood melodies. These soulful evenings will bring an authentic, community-driven flavour of Indian tradition into the mall’s central atrium, creating one of the season’s most unmissable highlights.

Adding to the weekend rhythm, Fridays will feature lively family game nights with antakshari, festive quizzes, and much more, while Sundays will see roaming dhol drummers and traditional dance performances filling the mall with festive energy.

The celebrations will also be amplified through a three-week radio roadshow with Radio 4, ensuring the Jhilmil spirit reaches audiences across Dubai. We will have branded Hummers with Radio 4, visiting your vicinity for Diwali celebrations, taking Jhilmil Diwali beyond the mall.  Inside the mall, the festivities will be complemented by festive décor across the mall, bringing the celebration to life!

With its mix of cultural traditions, festive décor, rewarding retail, and music at its core, Jhilmil Diwali at BurJuman Mall is set to be Dubai’s ultimate destination for Diwali celebrations this year.
