Chefs Akmal Anuar & Khaled Alsaadi Present “Many Hands – Platters of Tradition” at Goldfish Sushi & Yakitori Abu Dhabi

Goldfish Sushi & Yakitori, the award-winning Japanese restaurant at Marina Mall, invites guests to an intimate evening of culinary collaboration with Many Hands – Platters of Tradition. Taking place on Thursday, 16 October, the event, priced at AED285 per person, unites Chef Akmal Anuar and Chef Khaled Alsaadi for a celebration of shared heritage, creativity, and the timeless tradition of dining together.

The experience unfolds across two evening seatings, starting at 6pm and 9pm respectively, and features a curated set menu made for sharing, designed as one cohesive composition. Prepared and served many-hands style, each dish reflects the beauty of connection through food, drawing on both chefs’ Arab roots and their shared passion for craft, elevated with delicate Japanese influences that honour Goldfish’s culinary philosophy.

The evening begins with Maraq, a rich meat-based soup with shrimp wontons and onions, followed by Smoked Eggplant and Bukhari Rice, presented nigiri style, and a Harissa and Walnut Dip paired with soft Shokupan bread.

At the centre of the menu, a whole lamb is prepared and shared across a series of dishes that showcase different cooking methods and flavour profiles: Honey-Glazed Lamb Ribs with Smoked Furikake, Sticky Teriyaki Lamb Shank, Lamb Skewers, Lamb Floss with Majboos Spices, and Fahsa, a slow-cooked meat stew. The mains are complemented by a thoughtful selection of sides, including Mushroom and Okra Bamia and Zurbian Rice. The dinner concludes with Cinnamon Butter Pound Cake, served with Honey Ice Cream and Sidr Honey, a delicate finale that captures the warmth and generosity of the evening.

“Many Hands is about more than food; it’s about connection. When chefs cook together, ideas move freely, techniques merge, and something deeply human happens around the table,” says Chef Akmal Anuar.

“Our cuisine carries memory, family, and place. Many Hands lets us bring that spirit to the table, together, through craft and respect,” adds Chef Khaled Alsaadi.

With over two decades of experience, Chef Akmal is celebrated for his artistry and precision, known for acclaimed Michelin-recognised concepts such as Goldfish Sushi & Yakitori, Harummanis and Funkcoolio. He is joined by Chef Khaled Alsaadi, an Emirati culinary artist renowned for elevating local cuisine with global technique. Having honed his craft at Nobu, Hakkasan, Ossiano, and Bread Street Kitchen, Chef Khaled is known for blending innovation with heritage, crafting dishes that are both soulful and contemporary.

Together, they present Many Hands – Platters of Tradition: a one-night collaboration where heritage meets artistry, and every plate tells a story of collaboration, culture, and craft.
