Dust and Rain Forecast as NCM Issues Weather Alert Across UAE

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a yellow weather alert for large parts of the UAE today, warning of dusty conditions, reduced visibility, and chances of rainfall in some areas. The advisory, which remains in effect until 9 PM, urges residents to drive cautiously and limit outdoor exposure during periods of strong winds and dust.

According to the NCM, visibility may drop below 2,000 meters at times due to blowing dust and sand. The day will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies, particularly over Al Dhafrah, where light to moderate rainfall is possible later in the day.

Cooler Temperatures Ahead

A noticeable cooling trend is expected to continue, with daytime highs peaking near 36°C, while nighttime lows could drop to 17°C in inland and mountain areas. Dubai recorded a morning temperature of 26°C today under mostly sunny and breezy skies. The lowest temperature recorded across the UAE on Tuesday was 15.4°C in Mezaira (Al Dhafra) at 6:15 AM.

Wind and Dust Conditions

Winds are forecast to range between 10 and 25 km/h, occasionally strengthening to 40 km/h in exposed areas. These gusts will continue to stir up dust and sand through the afternoon, before gradually easing after sunset.

Humidity levels are expected to rise overnight, reaching up to 85%, increasing the chance of mist or light fog formation in some regions by early Thursday.

Sea Conditions

For those venturing offshore, sea conditions will remain moderate to slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in the Oman Sea. The NCM noted that while conditions are generally stable, temporary fluctuations may occur during periods of strong winds.

The NCM continues to monitor changing weather patterns closely and advises residents to stay updated through official channels for the latest forecasts and safety guidance.
