Officials say the strategy brings together policing, emergency response, public transport and event operations to ensure smooth movement and uninterrupted festivities at all major celebration sites. With dozens of fireworks displays planned across the city, Dubai aims to spread crowds while maintaining high safety standards.

Major security and emergency deployment

To manage the scale of the event, authorities will roll out one of the largest New Year operations in the city’s history. The plan includes the deployment of 9,884 Dubai Police personnel, supported by 1,625 patrol vehicles and 36 bicycles to navigate high-density areas.

Marine and coastal zones will be secured by 53 rescue boats, 34 rescue platforms and 37 support tents, while 1,754 Civil Defence personnel and 165 fire engines will be on standby citywide.

Medical readiness forms a key pillar of the plan. A total of 635 paramedics and 236 ambulances will be positioned across Dubai, supported by 12 nearby hospitals and clinics. In addition, 1,900 medical professionals, 3,475 Dubai Municipality staff and 13,502 private security personnel will assist with crowd control and public safety. Transport capacity will also be boosted, with 18,000 limousine vehicles allocated to ease movement.

Transport and crowd flow measures

Public transport will play a central role in managing crowd movement. Dubai Metro services will run continuously for 43 hours, with additional capacity at key stations including Emirates Towers, Financial Centre, World Trade Centre, Business Bay and Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall.

Authorities have urged residents and visitors to rely on public transport, follow official guidance and stay updated through RTA channels to avoid congestion and ensure an orderly experience before and after the celebrations.

Dubai Ambulance on high alert

Dubai Ambulance has positioned teams across 236 coverage points in Dubai and Hatta, supported by a mixed fleet of specialised ambulances, rapid-response vehicles, bicycles, golf carts, marine rescue boats and ambulance buses. Air ambulance services will also be coordinated with Dubai Police to ensure rapid response in critical situations.

Coverage will focus on high-density areas, waterfronts, tourist attractions, fireworks sites and desert venues, ensuring swift medical assistance throughout the night.

Fireworks across the emirate

To reduce crowd pressure on any single location, Dubai has approved 48 fireworks displays across 40 sites. Major shows will take place at Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Festival City, Dubai Creek Harbour, Bluewaters, Burj Al Arab, Expo City Dubai, Global Village, Atlantis The Palm and Palm Jebel Ali.

Officials said the wide spread of fireworks locations is intended to balance crowd distribution while preserving safety and ease of movement. Visitors are encouraged to follow safety instructions, use public transport and comply with authorities’ directions to ensure a smooth and enjoyable start to 2026.
