Flight operations at Dubai International Airport and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport were disrupted early Tuesday morning due to heavy fog, impacting both departures and arrivals.
Dubai Airports confirmed that adverse weather conditions led to the cancellation of 12 flights, while 23 inbound services were diverted as visibility dropped to just a few hundred metres across parts of the emirate.
The fog also affected road traffic, with motorists reporting slower movement on several major highways during the morning hours.
In a statement, Dubai Airports said it is working closely with airlines and service partners to reduce disruption and resume normal operations as quickly as possible.
“Operations at Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central — Al Maktoum International (DWC) have been impacted since early Tuesday morning due to adverse weather conditions,” a spokesperson said. “Dubai Airports is working closely with airlines and service partners to minimise disruption to guests and restore normal operations as soon as possible.”
Passengers travelling through either airport have been advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest flight updates before heading to the airport.
