Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has welcomed acclaimed musical actor and composer Ayanga to the growing list of Langham Luminaries featured in its flagship brand’s Your Story. Our Legacy. campaign. The global marketing initiative highlights individuals whose creativity and achievements echo the spirit of The Langham Hotels and Resorts (The Langham), where artists, innovators and cultural figures have gathered for more than 160 years.
In support of the campaign, Ayanga visited The Langham, Shanghai, Xintiandi, returning to a city closely tied to his artistic journey. He first came to the metropolis 15 years ago to take part in a series of stage productions, forming lasting memories of the Bund, the Huangpu River and the city’s distinctive cultural energy. His recent visit offered him a chance to reflect on the path that has taken him from those early performances to becoming one of China’s most recognised musical theatre talents.
Trained at the Beijing Dance Academy, Ayanga rose to international prominence after taking up the lead role in the Chinese version of The Phantom of the Opera. His original musical, The Message, which he produced and composed thereafter, was met with critical acclaim and strong commercial success.

Ayanga joins a distinguished group of individuals whose backgrounds have already been featured in the campaign, including Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell, chef Michel Roux Jr., food creator Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, winning athletes Cheung Ka-long and Wang Shun, designers Laura Kim and Fernando J. Garcia, architectural figures Dirk Lohan and Douglas Friedman, and singer and television personality Dannii Minogue.
