Dubai-based airline Emirates has introduced what it describes as the world’s most comprehensive travel insurance product, becoming the first airline to offer an enhanced travel cover package that combines extensive insurance protection with direct airline support during major travel disruptions.
The new Comprehensive Travel Cover has been developed in partnership with Travel Guard and is designed to provide travellers with greater confidence throughout their journey. The package includes protection for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, baggage delays or loss, and emergency evacuation services worldwide.
A key feature of the new offering is coverage for medical expenses arising from conflict-related incidents, an area that has become increasingly important for international travellers. In addition to insurance benefits, Emirates will provide practical support during disruptions, including hotel accommodation and extended-stay assistance when required.
The airline has also committed to rebooking passengers at no extra cost if their travel plans are affected by conflict-related disruptions. This includes arranging alternative flights to customers’ final destinations when Emirates services are unavailable or when itineraries involve connections on other airlines.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, said the company identified a gap in the market after reviewing customer feedback and recognising continued strong demand for international travel. He noted that travellers increasingly seek broader protection and reassurance when planning trips.
Russel Antonio, Head of Global Business & Partnerships at Travel Guard, said the enhanced travel cover establishes a new industry benchmark by addressing the evolving needs of modern travellers.
The Comprehensive Travel Cover is currently available for purchase in several markets across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Gulf region, including the UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait.
