Athar – Saudi Festival of Creativity, the Kingdom’s largest gathering of the creative marketing industry, has announced the return of the Maheerah Programme for its fourth edition, inviting applications for its 2026 cycle. Powered by Publicis Groupe, the programme is dedicated to supporting high-performing, mid-career women in the industry through mentorship, professional development, and a strong network of peers and industry leaders.
Kamille Merchant, Director of Athar Festival, said: “I’ve been fortunate enough to see the Maheerah Programme evolve from an ambitious concept into a thriving community of talented and driven women. It has become an important part of Athar Festival’s vision for a creative marcomms ecosystem where all Saudi talent can thrive. What has been most rewarding is seeing its alumni go on to achieve so much in their careers. They continue to inspire me through their skill, professionalism, and willingness to support one another as they learn and grow. I have no doubt that the women joining this year will continue that tradition.”
Bassel Kakish, Chief Executive Officer at Publicis Groupe ME & Turkey, added, “The Maheerah programme has grown into a community of talented women who are shaping the future of Saudi Arabia’s marketing and communications industry while inspiring the next generation to follow. As we enter the fourth year of our partnership with Athar, we are proud to continue investing in the next generation of talent and look forward to welcoming this year’s cohort. We believe a stronger industry starts with investing in our future leaders, and together with Athar, we remain committed to building a stronger marketing and communications ecosystem for the Kingdom.”
Maheerah works across three parts. The Programme runs an intensive cycle of mentorship and professional development. The Network keeps members connected year-round through regular sessions and events. The Alumni community carries that on, linking graduates through ongoing opportunities and peer support.
Today, Maheerah Network connects 300+ members from across Saudi Arabia’s creative marcomms industry. This network offers over a dozen sessions annually, covering topics such as creative confidence, idea delivery and art of negotiation, alongside a range of community events and initiatives.
The fourth edition of the Maheerah Programme will take place at Athar Festival 2026, which will be held in Riyadh on 24-25 November 2026. Open to women working across Saudi Arabia’s creative marcomms industry, applications for the upcoming programme open on 30 June and close on 24 September. Participants selected for this year’s cohort will be announced in October.
