Dubai, UAE — July 2026 — Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, has reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with UAE energy companies and providing a stable, attractive investment climate to support their expansion in Egypt, with the aim of boosting oil and gas output and advancing shared interests.
Badawi made the remarks during a meeting with Richard Hall, CEO of UAE-based Dana Gas, to review the company’s latest activities in Egypt and its plans to expand exploration and production operations, including increasing natural gas output from its onshore Nile Delta concession areas.
According to the Emirates News Agency, the minister pledged his government’s commitment to accelerating drilling, exploration and development programs, ramping up production from existing fields, and fast-tracking new discoveries onto the production map.
Badawi also highlighted Egypt’s pride in its long-standing strategic partnership with Dana Gas, affirming the ministry’s continued support for all partners and its resolve to overcome operational challenges.
He added that the ministry is expanding the application of advanced production technologies, chief among them horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing, citing their proven effectiveness in raising production rates and maximizing reserve recovery to the benefit of all parties.
Dana Gas CEO Richard Hall, for his part, expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Ministry of Petroleum and its affiliated entities.
He noted that the company delivered strong results from its latest drilling program, boosting its proven gas reserves by between 20 and 25 percent, a performance that prompted the addition of two new wells to its exploration program, with a view to accelerating production and unlocking the full potential of its Egyptian concession areas.
Hall also voiced confidence in the future of Egypt’s petroleum sector, commending the continued improvements to its investment environment.
