The Ajman Municipality and Planning Department has launched the AI Makers Journey initiative through its Ajman X Centre, marking a new step in strengthening artificial intelligence adoption and fostering innovation across government operations.

The programme is designed to equip national talent with practical AI skills while encouraging the development of innovative solutions that enhance government services and improve institutional efficiency. The initiative also supports the Department’s strategy to expand innovation incubators and strengthen scientific research and innovation programmes in line with the UAE’s vision for AI-driven government transformation.

The initiative was inaugurated by Eng. Noura Rashid Shattaf, Executive Director of the Strategy and Customer Happiness Sector, who highlighted the Department’s commitment to embedding innovation and artificial intelligence into daily operations to build a more agile, efficient and sustainable government ecosystem.

The first phase will involve 30 employees and is being delivered in collaboration with Netways and AI Brains through a hands-on programme focused on turning innovative concepts into projects with measurable institutional impact.

Sheikha Dr. Noura Humaid Al Nuaimi, Innovation Advisor and Director of the Ajman X Centre, said the AI Makers Journey provides a practical framework for transforming artificial intelligence ideas into solutions that improve services, strengthen operational efficiency and reinforce a culture of innovation across the Department.

She noted that the programme extends beyond classroom learning by combining AI knowledge development with practical project creation, prototype presentations and evaluations, before recognising the most promising projects for future implementation. This approach aims to prepare employees to lead digital transformation initiatives and deliver solutions that address real organisational challenges.

The initiative is expected to strengthen AI capabilities across the Department by enabling employees to integrate artificial intelligence into their daily work, develop practical prototypes and identify opportunities to improve government services and operational performance.

It also encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing across departments while supporting the creation of a sustainable ecosystem for AI applications that can drive long-term innovation within the organisation.
