Reliability Takes the Wheel: UAE Car Buyers Shift Towards Practical Vehicles, dubizzle Data Shows

UAE car buyers are taking an increasingly considered approach to vehicle ownership, balancing value, reliability and long-term suitability alongside brand appeal, according to the latest marketplace insights from dubizzle, the UAE’s largest automotive platform.

New data comparing vehicle searches in June 2026 against the previous month reveals a clear shift towards practicality in consumer preferences, with Japanese manufacturers led by Toyota and Mitsubishi, recording some of the strongest growth in buyer interest, while searches for vehicles priced below AED 200,000 significantly surpassed the luxury segment.

The findings suggest that affordability, fuel efficiency and resale value and practicality continue to shape purchasing decisions as consumers become increasingly selective about long-term ownership costs.

Toyota Continues to Lead Consumer Interest

Toyota remained the most viewed automotive brand on dubizzle, attracting more than 3.6 million views during June and recording the highest month-on-month growth among all manufacturers.

Mitsubishi also experienced strong momentum, while brands including Kia, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz recorded healthy increases in consumer engagement.

When grouped by manufacturing origin, Japanese vehicles attracted over 9.5 million ad views, reinforcing their reputation among UAE buyers for reliability, durability and strong resale performance.

SUVs and Everyday Cars Continue to Drive Demand

Interest in Japanese manufacturers was reflected across several of the UAE’s most searched models.

The Toyota Corolla Cross recorded one of the fastest growth rates on the platform, with consumer interest almost doubling month-on-month, while the iconic Toyota Land Cruiser continued to attract exceptionally high engagement, underlining its enduring popularity among UAE drivers.

The Mitsubishi Outlander also recorded strong growth, highlighting continued demand for practical family SUVs that offer versatility, comfort and value.

Buyers Are Focusing on Value

Perhaps the most significant trend emerging from the data is the growing demand for affordable and mid-range vehicles.

Cars priced below AED 100,000 experienced the strongest increase in consumer interest, generating more than 16.5 million views, while vehicles within the AED 100,000–200,000 price bracket also continued to grow steadily.

Commenting on the findings, Sherif Magdy, Sales Director at dubizzle Cars, said:

“We’re seeing a more informed and pragmatic buyer than ever before. Today’s consumers are approaching vehicle purchases with a long-term mindset, looking beyond the initial purchase price to evaluate factors such as reliability, maintenance costs, fuel efficiency and resale value. Marketplace data increasingly shows that practicality has become one of the strongest drivers of demand, with brands that consistently deliver on quality, durability and overall value continuing to perform exceptionally well on our platform.”

Real-Time Marketplace Insights

With millions of monthly searches across thousands of vehicle listings, dubizzle continues to provide one of the UAE’s most comprehensive views of changing automotive preferences.

The latest findings reinforce how digital marketplace data can offer valuable insight into consumer behaviour, helping buyers, sellers and dealers better understand demand as the UAE automotive market continues to evolve.
