Dubai, UAE — July 2026 — The United Arab Emirates took part in a NATO counterterrorism dialogue held at the alliance’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, on July 9-10, 2026, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening international cooperation in combating terrorism and addressing evolving security challenges.
The UAE delegation was headed by Maqsoud Kruse, the Foreign Ministry’s Envoy for Counter-Terrorism and Violent Extremism, who took part in the discussions alongside representatives from NATO and partner nations.
The dialogue focused on enhancing cooperation and exchanging expertise on a number of counterterrorism priorities, including capacity building, strengthening resilience, protecting critical infrastructure, maritime security, and countering emerging threats.
During the dialogue, Kruse reiterated the UAE’s commitment to working closely with international partners to advance collective efforts against extremism and terrorism, in a way that contributes to consolidating peace, security, and stability at both the regional and international levels.
