The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast the formation of local convective clouds over parts of the UAE’s eastern and southern regions from Monday, August 3, until Friday, August 7.
The clouds are expected to develop mainly during the afternoon and may bring rainfall of varying intensity to some areas.
According to the NCM, the unsettled conditions are linked to the northward movement of the Intertropical Convergence Zone, an upper-level trough extending from the east and a surface low-pressure system advancing from the south.
Moisture drawn from the Sea of Oman, rising temperatures and the influence of the eastern mountain ranges are also expected to support cloud formation.
Winds will be southeasterly to northeasterly and moderate in speed, becoming fresh to occasionally strong near convective clouds. The winds may cause blowing dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility in some areas.
Sea conditions are expected to remain slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
