Alpha Dhabi Holding PJSC has doubled its capital commitment to the MICAD Credit joint venture managed by Mubadala Capital, increasing its investment to US$1 billion as it expands its exposure to the global private credit market.

Under the revised partnership agreement, the ADX-listed investment group will also raise its ownership stake in the joint venture to 40 percent, up from 20 percent.

The MICAD Credit JV’s investment mandate has been expanded beyond its existing US and European direct lending activities. The platform will now be able to pursue additional private credit strategies available through Mubadala Capital’s established global relationships and investment network.

The joint venture currently manages approximately US$1.7 billion in assets across 45 portfolio companies, providing Alpha Dhabi with broader access to private credit opportunities across international markets.

Hamad Salem Al Ameri, Managing Director and Group CEO of Alpha Dhabi Holding PJSC, said the expanded partnership reflects the group’s confidence in private credit as an important part of its investment strategy.

He said doubling Alpha Dhabi’s commitment and widening the investment mandate would allow the company to access a broader range of high-quality global opportunities, while strengthening a platform that already has significant scale and future growth potential.

Omar Eraiqat, President and Chief Investment Officer, Credit and Solutions at Mubadala Capital, said the expansion of the joint venture demonstrates the strength of Mubadala Capital’s approach to developing investment platforms with institutional partners.

He added that as Mubadala Capital’s credit business continues to expand, the company remains focused on providing access to differentiated private credit opportunities through its investment capabilities and long-term global relationships.

Alpha Dhabi is one of the MENA region’s fastest-growing investment holding companies, while Mubadala Capital operates as a global alternative asset manager with investment activities across a range of private market strategies.
