ZAKH opens solar panel and BIPV manufacturing facility in Ras Al Khaimah

ZAKH Renewable Energy and Engineering Manufacturing has launched a new solar panel and Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) production facility in Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), strengthening the emirate’s position as a growing hub for renewable energy manufacturing.

Located on a 30,000-square-metre site in Al Ghail Industrial Zone, the facility will produce solar panels and customised BIPV façade solutions for customers in the UAE, GCC, wider MENA region and international markets.

The plant currently has an annual solar panel production capacity of 600 MW, while its BIPV operations can manufacture up to 500,000 square metres of customised façade solutions each year.

RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad said the new facility adds specialised renewable energy manufacturing capabilities to Ras Al Khaimah’s expanding industrial sector.

He noted that growing demand for clean energy technologies is creating opportunities to strengthen local supply chains, enhance industrial expertise and serve both regional and international markets.

ZAKH Chief Operating Officer Marina Strateva described the launch as an important milestone in the company’s growth strategy.

She said Ras Al Khaimah provides ZAKH with a strategic manufacturing base from which it can supply high-quality solar panels and tailored BIPV façade solutions to customers across the UAE, GCC and global markets.

Strateva added that RAKEZ has provided the infrastructure and business environment required to support the company’s manufacturing ambitions and future expansion.

ZAKH plans to increase its solar module production capacity to more than 1.8 GW annually over the coming years.

The company’s products will primarily target markets in the UAE, GCC and MENA region, while also expanding into Africa, Europe and the United States.

ZAKH’s flagship solar technology brand, FAERS, was launched as a research and development initiative in Azerbaijan in 2017 before developing into an industrial-scale photovoltaic manufacturing operation.

Its solar technologies are designed specifically to perform in high-temperature and desert conditions, making them suitable for markets across the Middle East and other regions with challenging climates.

RAKEZ said it continues to develop its industrial ecosystem for companies operating in renewable energy and sustainability-focused sectors by providing infrastructure, facilities and business support.

The economic zone said supporting local manufacturing in emerging clean-energy industries will help strengthen sustainable industrial growth while building more resilient regional supply chains.
