WOW Design pushes the boundaries of ceramics at CERSAIE 2026

WOW Design, a ceramic design brand specialising in designer pieces and small formats, presents new collections and ceramic developments at CERSAIE 2026 alongside The Unexpected, a space through which the brand explores new materials, functions and scales of application. All of this is presented in a 400 m² exhibition area designed by Summumstudio for WOW’s stand in Bologna.

The Unexpected: new materials, new functions, new scales

With The Unexpected, WOW presents three new lines: FUNCtile, WOW HOME and ECHO, with its first collection, Pizzicato. Three proposals that extend the brand’s language into function, furniture and new materials for architecture and interior design.

FUNCtile: when ceramics become functional

With FUNCtile, WOW transforms the ceramic piece into a functional element integrated into architecture. Based on a 12.5 x 12.5 cm grid, three-dimensional pieces such as shelves (Shelf), hooks (Hook), containers (Pot) and integrated lighting (Light) become part of the wall covering itself.

The wall can therefore store, support, hang or illuminate without losing its material continuity. FUNCtile is developed in eight colours coordinated with the Fayenza collection, in deliberately more intense tones that identify the functional pieces within the overall composition.

WOW HOME: from ceramics to furniture

With WOW HOME, WOW ceramics make the leap into furniture with a first collection of coffee tables and side tables clad with references from the brand’s own catalogue. Each surface can be configured independently, combining different colours, finishes and textures in the 5 x 15 cm format.

The proposal will also include a digital configurator to select the model, choose the references for each surface and visualise the result, extending WOW’s ceramic language beyond wall coverings.

ECHO and Pizzicato: a new material for architecture

ECHO is a new material developed for architecture with 90% recycled content. Of this total, 51% comes from ceramics recovered from WOW’s own production process, while the remaining 39% comes from other recycled components.

Its first collection, Pizzicato, has been designed by Summumstudio, with CREAVALO as technological partner in the development of ECHO. The proposal combines pieces made from this new material with porcelain elements within the same system, opening up a new line of research for WOW around materiality and its possibilities in architecture.

New explorations in small format

The proposal for CERSAIE is completed with new collections and ceramic developments focused on relief, geometry, colour and composition.

Accent combines lines, curves and small chromatic accents and introduces Micro, a new 2.8 x 2.8 cm format that brings an almost graphic scale to the surface and which WOW plans to extend to other references in its catalogue.

In Matera, a mineral appearance and a palette of soft, earthy tones are combined with three reliefs, Grid, Lines and Irregular, which add rhythm and depth to the 15 x 15 cm piece.

Nagare focuses on highly glazed surfaces and deep colours, from Kaolin to Russet, Verdant and Abyss. The plain piece is combined with Suji, developed in eight different reliefs that create a strong interplay of light and shadow.

Salinas presents a mineral aesthetic defined by glazes, marks and tonal variations. Its three scales and the graphic diversity between pieces make it possible to create irregular, changing surfaces.

Seventies revisits a graphic and chromatic aesthetic inspired by the 1970s through plain pieces and the Groove and Ripple reliefs, in a palette that combines natural tones with more intense colours such as Mustard or Petrol.

The new developments are completed by Pixel for Vestige, Sabil, Sukabumi and Marble, together with Pure, Tao, Terra Ignota and Terre Neuve, expanding the catalogue with new combinations of formats, reliefs, geometries and colour.
