Dubai, UAE — Sept. 2026 — The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that an Electronic Visa Center will open in Beirut, Lebanon, next month, a move officials say will strengthen ties between the two countries and simplify travel procedures for Lebanese applicants.
Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said the centre’s opening reflects continuing efforts to deepen fraternal relations between the two nations and their peoples, and marks an important step in advancing bilateral cooperation.
The centre will allow visa applicants in Lebanon to complete the entire application process without leaving the country. Al Shamsi said this would help streamline and speed up procedures, in line with the regulations and requirements of the relevant authorities.
He added that the initiative highlights the UAE’s record of adopting innovative digital solutions that simplify procedures and improve the efficiency of services. These solutions, he said, offer users a more seamless and flexible experience both inside and outside the UAE, in line with the country’s digital transformation goals.
