Abu Dhabi opens Bridge Summit 2025, uniting global media and content leader

Abu Dhabi welcomed the world today as the first-ever Bridge Summit 2025 began in the UAE capital, bringing together top voices from the global media, content, and entertainment industries. The event is being described as the largest international gathering of its kind.

The summit hosts 60,000 participants from 132 countries, with 430 speakers representing 45 nations. Over 300 panels, workshops, and discussions are set to unfold, underscoring the UAE’s ambition to position the summit as a defining moment for the future of the global media ecosystem.

Majed Al Hamed said the summit aims to strengthen its role as a platform for cooperation and dialogue across cultures. He noted that the development of media and content industries reflects broader social progress and supports peace, understanding, and sustainability.

He added that the Bridge Summit welcomes media professionals, leaders, and creators at a time when the world faces interconnected challenges that demand unified global action. Media, he said, remains central to shaping awareness and helping societies navigate rapid transformation. He stressed that no country is isolated from the shifts occurring across modern media, making collaboration and shared vision essential for a responsible and sustainable future.

A diverse global meeting point

Dr Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Vice Chairman of the Bridge Alliance, described the summit’s first edition as a practical step toward building a more resilient and transparent media landscape. The presence of institutions, experts, and decision-makers from around the world gives the summit significant weight as a new hub for industry dialogue during one of the most transformative periods in media history.

He noted that today’s changes in the media sector are both deep and fast-moving, making adaptability and preparedness critical. The Bridge Summit, he said, was created to host open and practical conversations that confront challenges, explore opportunities, and restore trust among global media players.

Dr Al Kaabi added that the summit provides a shared space to forge partnerships, design new models of collaboration, and use ongoing industry shifts to support clearer, more responsible media that serves communities effectively.

Redefining the global media landscape

Richard Attias, Strategic Adviser to the Chairman of the Alliance, said the Bridge Summit aims to deliver something rarely seen in today’s media world by moving beyond traditional frameworks. He pointed out that global narratives are increasingly shaped by fragmented information and algorithm-driven content.

Attias said the summit challenges this reality by advocating for a new media system based on trust. Bridge, he explained, pushes for a complete rethink of influence, responsibility, and the role of content in a world where information has the power to either strengthen or erode confidence in institutions.

A space for ideas and transformation

Maryam bin Fahd, CEO of the Bridge Alliance, said the summit launches at a time when the global media and content sector needs a clear reassessment of its direction. The significant international participation reflects recognition of media as a driver of knowledge, economic growth, and cultural identity.

She added that the diversity represented at the event offers a real opportunity to understand upcoming transformations and the reforms needed to build a more balanced and innovative media environment. The summit, she said, acts as an open laboratory for ideas, bringing together policymakers, creators, investors, and technology leaders to lay the groundwork for a more transparent and future-ready industry.

Bin Fahd concluded by saying that the Bridge Alliance believes meaningful change starts with strong partnerships. The summit, she noted, serves as a global workshop dedicated to creating a model that empowers societies to produce content that represents them and supports their interests.
