Air Arabia is expanding its European network with the launch of a new direct route connecting Sharjah International Airport with Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport in Poland.
The non-stop service will begin on December 14, 2026, with five weekly flights, providing passengers with a new travel option between the UAE and Poland’s Pomerania region.
“We are pleased to add Gdansk to our growing network in Poland as we continue to expand our presence across Europe,” said Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia.
He added that the new route reflects the airline’s commitment to connecting Sharjah with key international destinations while offering reliable and affordable travel options.
The announcement follows Air Arabia’s recent launch of direct flights between Sharjah and Katowice, further strengthening the airline’s presence in Poland.
New opportunities for Gulf travellers
The Gdansk route is expected to improve business, tourism and investment links between the Gulf region and Pomerania, which is home to Gdansk and the Baltic Sea.
Tomasz Kloskowski, President of the Management Board of Gdansk Airport, said the direct connection would support business cooperation, trade relations and efforts to attract Middle Eastern investors to the region.
The service is also expected to boost tourism in both directions by encouraging travellers from Gdansk to visit the Arabian Peninsula and attracting more Gulf visitors to Pomerania.
Kloskowski noted that tourists from Gulf countries have already generated significant value for the local tourism sector. He added that the region’s cooler summers, Baltic Sea coastline and attractions across the Tri-City area are making Pomerania increasingly appealing to Gulf travellers.
The launch further highlights Air Arabia’s continued efforts to expand its European network from Sharjah and provide passengers with more affordable international travel choices.
