Bitcoin 2025 Hackathon to showcase global builders in Las Vegas

With a $30,000 prize pool

BTC Inc., the world’s leading Bitcoin conference organisers, has officially announced The Bitcoin Games B25 Hackathon, presented by Bitcoin++. This global competition aims to highlight cutting-edge innovation in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Submissions opened on April 7, and the winner will be announced at the Bitcoin 2025 conference, scheduled for May 27 to 29 in Las Vegas.

Set to be one of the most high-impact builder events of the year, the B25 Hackathon invites developers, designers, protocol engineers and startups worldwide to build and launch new open-source tools.

With a prize fund of over $30,000 and growing, the competition offers unique visibility on the Bitcoin conference mainstage—presenting finalists to over 30,000 attendees, including investors, media, and the broader Bitcoin community.

“This isn’t a side event—it’s where the next generation of Bitcoin begins,” said Justin Doochin, Head of Events at BTC Inc. “There are no gatekeepers here. No pitch decks, no panels—just builders, real code, and a shot to show the world what Bitcoin will do next.”

Participation is entirely free and open to individuals of all skill levels. Builders can register solo or as part of a team, and every eligible submission will receive complimentary passes to attend Bitcoin 2025. Whether you are working on Lightning Network applications, privacy protocols, AI integrations, custody solutions or core protocol enhancements—this is the stage where ideas break through.

“What we’re creating is a launchpad,” added Doochin. “This Hackathon is where ideas find collaborators, prototypes become products, and open-source work gets the visibility it deserves. If you are building on Bitcoin, you need to be here.”

The Hackathon builds on a strong tradition of open-source experimentation, leading to standout Bitcoin-native projects including ZBD, Trade Guardian, El Tor, and TwelveCash. These tools have contributed significantly to Bitcoin infrastructure and utility. This year’s event is made possible by sponsors such as exSat, B++, and venture capital fund UTXO—organisations committed to advancing Bitcoin-native development.

Beyond the competition, the Bitcoin Games B25 Hackathon reflects the broader mission of Bitcoin 2025: to empower grassroots developers, accelerate open-source progress, and offer builders both the platform and the recognition needed to shape the future of Bitcoin.

The B25 Hackathon presents a unique opportunity for sponsors to engage with a technically savvy, highly motivated audience. Sponsoring companies can support innovation by funding bounties, providing developer tools, or mentoring teams throughout the event. It is a strategic chance to connect with top-tier open-source contributors, startup founders, and future leaders in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
