Dubai Municipality has announced the return of the Ramadan Souq in Deira, with the fourth season set to open on January 17 and run until February 15 at Old Municipality Street Square in the Grand Souq area.

The annual event, organised by Dubai Municipality, is designed to celebrate Emirati heritage ahead of the holy month of Ramadan, while reinforcing the cultural and historical importance of traditional markets as major tourism attractions in the city.

Officials said the Ramadan Souq also aims to support local investors and small businesses by providing them with a dedicated platform to showcase and promote their products to a wide and diverse audience.

Heritage, shopping and family activities

Located in the heart of Deira, the souq will feature a mix of recreational, tourism and commercial activities catering to citizens, residents, tourists and visitors. From families and young people to culture and heritage enthusiasts, the market is expected to offer a distinctive shopping experience rooted in tradition, with competitive pricing and authentic merchandise.

A miniature souq will be set up alongside the historic Deira Souq, where long-established shopkeepers will operate stalls selling Ramadan essentials and items linked to the popular Haq Al Laila celebration.

Entertainment and community focus

In addition to retail offerings, the programme will include commercial exhibitions featuring food, personal goods and household products. Visitors can also expect live entertainment, interactive workshops, and a range of activities designed especially for children, creating a family-friendly atmosphere throughout the event.

Dubai Municipality said the Ramadan Souq reflects its ongoing efforts to preserve cultural identity, activate public spaces, and enhance community engagement during one of the most significant periods of the year in the UAE.
