Dubai Police have introduced streamlined digital services to help motorists report lost or found vehicle number plates, particularly as unstable weather conditions impact roads across the emirate.
Drivers can now easily file a lost item report or submit details of a found number plate through the official Dubai Police mobile application, available on both iOS and Android platforms. The service also allows users to request a Lost Certificate, which can be used for official purposes when dealing with other authorities.
Authorities confirmed that obtaining a Lost Certificate involves a fee of Dh50, along with Dh10 each for Knowledge and Innovation charges. Applications submitted in person at police stations incur an additional Dh100 fee. The processing time for issuing the certificate is typically three working days. Meanwhile, reporting a found item remains free of charge.
Dubai Police emphasised that these smart services are designed to improve response times and enhance communication between individuals who lose items and those who find them.
Amid ongoing rain across the UAE, motorists have also been urged to exercise caution on the roads. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, maintain safe distances, avoid waterlogged areas, and ensure clear visibility by using windshield wipers. Smooth braking and heightened alertness are also key to preventing accidents during adverse weather conditions.
Authorities reiterated that combining safe driving practices with the use of digital reporting tools contributes to maintaining road safety during periods of heavy rain.
