Dubai Ports Authority (DPA), operating under the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, has become a regular member of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), marking a significant step in Dubai’s efforts to strengthen its global maritime footprint.
The membership aligns with Dubai’s strategy to deepen engagement on influential international platforms within the ports and logistics sector, while advancing a more sustainable, efficient and resilient maritime ecosystem.
Through IAPH, which represents port authorities and maritime stakeholders across more than 90 countries, DPA will collaborate with global port communities and contribute to programmes focused on emissions reduction, energy transition, digital transformation, maritime data coordination, risk management, emergency preparedness and operational resilience.
Captain Ibrahim Al Blooshi, Executive Director of Dubai Ports Authority at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said the move supports Dubai’s broader ambition to integrate more closely with the global maritime ecosystem and expand partnerships that drive sustainability and supply chain efficiency.
He described the membership as an important milestone in strengthening international cooperation, exchanging best practices and contributing to the development of global port standards, particularly in areas such as safety, digital transformation and environmental responsibility.
Al Blooshi added that joining IAPH enhances Dubai’s competitiveness as a future-ready maritime hub committed to sustainable development. He noted that the partnership will open new opportunities for joint projects, accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies and smart solutions, and improve port readiness and business continuity amid rapid changes in global supply chains.
Key ports under DPA’s oversight
Dubai Ports Authority oversees several major maritime assets in the emirate, including:

The Authority continues to enhance the global standing of these ports through infrastructure upgrades, strengthened regulatory frameworks, advanced inspection and control systems, and service modernisation in line with international best practices.
The IAPH membership supports Dubai’s long-term vision of positioning its ports as key drivers of trade and economic growth, while reinforcing their role as centres of competitiveness, sustainability and innovation. By engaging more actively with global partners, Dubai aims to accelerate transformation across its maritime sector and strengthen resilience in the face of evolving global challenges.
