Silent Box Launches in Dubai to Introduce Structured Micro-Recovery for Workplaces and Events

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, 20 February 2026: A new immersive installation designed to address overstimulation in high-intensity environments has officially launched in Dubai. Known as the Silent Box, the concept was inaugurated at a private event attended by partners and collaborators, marking its formal entry into the UAE market.

Developed by Away Expedition, Silent Box offers a six-minute guided reset experience within a purpose-built 3×3-meter installation. Participants lie down and embark on an audio-first journey, supported by subtle lighting and atmospheric elements. The experience is intentionally minimal. It is not therapy and not a medical device, but a structured micro-pause designed to help individuals relax, recharge, and realign before returning to their day.

The idea emerged in 2024 after the founder, Arno Gazo, attended a large exhibition at IFEMA MADRID and felt overwhelmed by the constant stimulation. Months later, during a solitary night in the desert, the contrast between noise and stillness led to a simple question: how could people experience moments of reset while living and working in a fast-moving city like Dubai?

“We are not trying to remove intensity from workplaces or events,” says Arno. “Energy and stimulation are part of what make them successful. But without moments of pause, that same intensity can quietly lead to stress and disengagement. The Silent Box was designed as a practical micro-pause, so people can return focused and available rather than fatigued.”

The concept was previously demonstrated at the Dubai World Trade Centre during INDEX 2025, where more than 50 participants experienced the installation. Feedback from attendees referenced increased calm, clarity, and renewed focus, with one participant noting an unexpected sense of safety inside the space.

Growing research continues to highlight the value of short, structured mindful practices. A 2024 study published in the British Journal of Health Psychology found that ten minutes of daily mindfulness can significantly improve well-being and reduce depressive symptoms. Silent Box translates similar principles into a compact, deployable format suited to corporate environments, events, and public venues.

The installation can be integrated through corporate placements, event activations, and sponsor-supported venue partnerships, with the team managing setup and operations.

As workplaces and large-scale events continue to prioritize engagement and experience design, Silent Box positions structured micro-recovery as a practical addition rather than a luxury. In environments built to capture attention, an intentional pause may prove just as valuable.
