As the UAE gears up to mark its 54th Union anniversary, the official Eid Al Etihad 2025 brand guidelines have been released offering detailed directions for how government entities, businesses, and residents should use the national visual identity for this year’s festivities.
Themed “United,” the 2025 celebrations will spotlight the enduring values of togetherness and pride that define the UAE. The newly issued guidelines aim to ensure a consistent and unified national narrative across all creative expressions, from public displays to digital campaigns.
A unified national story
This week, the 54th Eid Al Etihad Team convened representatives from all seven emirates to align efforts and foster a coordinated approach to the nationwide celebrations.
“This year’s celebrations embody the shared spirit of the Union a reflection of the deep cultural and social ties uniting everyone who calls the UAE home,” the Team said.
According to the guidelines, the official logo draws inspiration from early Emirati street signs a nod to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s personal involvement in shaping the nation’s identity and infrastructure. The logo is available in three versions a primary logo, a framed version, and a negative version each designed for different visual contexts.
Dynamic visual identity
The Eid Al Etihad visual identity features a dynamic brand system built on three main colour palettes:
- Flag Palette: Inspired by the UAE flag colours.
- Heritage Palette: Featuring neutral tones that evoke Emirati culture.
- Seven Emirates Palette: Assigning each emirate a distinctive keyword and colour scheme.
Designers can choose between minimal, standard, and illustrative versions depending on layout complexity. The guidelines emphasise maintaining balance, spacing, and brand integrity across all visual assets from billboards and flags to merchandise and online media.
Typography also plays a key role: Vinyl is the chosen English typeface, while Athelas Arabic Variable serves as the Arabic counterpart, both reflecting the condensed aesthetic of traditional Emirati signage.
What’s allowed and what’s not
The UAE has clearly defined dos and don’ts for anyone using the logo:
- The logo must not be stretched, rotated, recoloured, or used with drop shadows or decorative effects.
- It cannot be translated into other languages, combined with other logos, or placed on cluttered or low-contrast backgrounds.
- Users should avoid creating unapproved logo lockups or enclosing the logo within shapes not specified in the guide.
Minimum size requirements have been introduced to guarantee legibility across print and digital platforms.
Month-long celebrations
The Eid Al Etihad Team confirmed that this year’s celebrations will begin with Flag Day on November 3, leading up to the Union anniversary on December 2. Events will be held nationwide, encouraging residents to celebrate under the unified Eid Al Etihad identity.
Organisers have urged all institutions and residents to access the official brand toolkit at EidAlEtihad.ae, where additional creative resources will be released in the coming weeks to help plan and design festive experiences.
