A fighter jet taking part in the final afternoon display at the Dubai Airshow crashed on Friday, prompting an immediate response from emergency teams and the temporary suspension of all outdoor demonstrations.
The aircraft, believed to be an Indian Tejas according to the scheduled flying programme, went down during its performance, shocking spectators who had gathered for one of the event’s most popular segments.
Rescue teams reached the site within minutes and began securing the area. Visitors in the outdoor zone were quickly instructed to move back to the main exhibition halls as a precaution while authorities assessed the situation.
The afternoon flying displays, which traditionally draw large crowds eager to watch aerobatic and military aircraft in action, were put on hold following the incident.
