Flydubai cruises into 2024 after a smooth take-off in 2023

Carrier flies to 120+ destinations globally

Flydubai – the airline under the control of the Investment Corporation of Dubai – has had an excellent operational year in 2023.

Since commencing operations in June 2009, the Dubai-headquartered airline flies to more than 120 destinations in 54 countries.

The single fleet-type carrier operates 84 Boeing 737s, comprising 29 737-800s, 52 737 MAX 8s and 3 737 MAX 9s.

Having carried more than 100 million passengers since it began operations in 2008 and highlighting the airline’s achievements in 2023, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO at Flydubai, said: “This year [2023] has been an incredible year full of opportunity and further growth for Flydubai.

“The strong foundations we have developed were reflected in strong financial performance as we announced a record profit for 2022. This exceptional performance demonstrated what we can achieve, raising the bar even higher for 2023,” Al Ghaith added.

  • -Flydubai entered into two codeshare agreements with Air Canada and United Airlines.
  • Flydubai won four industry recognitions.
  • -Flydubai placed its fourth aircraft order since it was founded in 2008.
  • -Flydubai carried more than 4.5 million passengers across its network this summer.
  • -13 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft joined Flydubai’s fleet in 2023.
  • -Flydubai celebrated 14 years of operations from its home hub in Dubai.
  • -Flydubai inaugurated and relaunched flights to 17 destinations.
  • -Flydubai operates 29 Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
  • -Flydubai placed a $11 billion order for 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
  • -Flydubai operates flights to 54 countries within a seven-hour flight radius of Dubai.
  • -Flydubai operates 55 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.
  • -Flydubai will open a $56 million full-flight simulator and training facility in Dubai.
  • -Flydubai opened up routes to 75 destinations that did not have direct air links to Dubai.
  • -Flydubai flies to 122 destinations across Africa, Central Asia, Central and South-East Europe, GCC, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and South-East Asia.
  • -Flydubai’s workforce comprises 140 different nationalities.
  • -Flydubai announced its plans for a $190-million MRO facility in Dubai South.
  • -Flydubai signed a service pact for 222 CFM LEAP-1B engines at Dubai Airshow 2023.
  • -Flydubai announced on March 1, 2023, a profit of $327 million.-Flydubai has a workforce of more than 5,500 employees.
