Fujairah Police have implemented a new traffic management plan to improve the flow of heavy vehicles along the Fujairah–Khorfakkan Road, easing congestion in both directions and enhancing travel efficiency.
The initiative, led by the Traffic and Licensing Services Centre, has already contributed to smoother traffic movement and reduced travel times for motorists using the busy route.
Authorities said the plan includes increased field patrols, designated lanes for trucks, and specific time windows for heavy vehicle movement. These measures are designed to limit interaction between trucks and other vehicles, improving overall road safety and traffic flow.
In addition, awareness campaigns have been intensified, with drivers urged to comply with traffic laws and safety guidelines. Enforcement efforts have also been strengthened to maintain high safety standards across the road network.
As part of the initiative, officials also distributed meals to truck drivers during peak hours, highlighting a humanitarian approach to supporting those working long hours on the road.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to adopting proactive traffic solutions and enhancing field operations to accommodate growing traffic volumes and ensure safety on major roads across the emirate.
