General Assembly Launches Data Science Program to Empower Bahrainis in the Tech Economy

General Assembly Bahrain has launched a comprehensive Data Science program in partnership with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), offered in three flexible formats—Full-time, Part-time, and Career Development—to meet learners where they are in their careers.

The program supports Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025: upskilling nationals, elevating local talent competitiveness in the private sector, and advancing digital transformation.
The curriculum equips learners with real-world experience in statistical modeling, Python, data visualization, machine learning (ML), and NLP—skills urgently needed across sectors. Participants gain the analytical and decision-making abilities required for today’s most in-demand data roles.
“As Bahrain’s tech sector advances, the growing demand for skilled data professionals presents a key opportunity to develop local talent,” said Ahlam Oun, Director of General Assembly Bahrain. “Our new Data Science Bootcamp, supported by Tamkeen, offers flexible, career-compatible training that empowers individuals to upskill without pausing their careers—a strategic step toward shaping Bahrain’s digital future through hands-on learning in AI, ML, and data analytics.”
She added, “Our upcoming Career Development program delivers targeted, on-the-job upskilling for organisations and employees—fueling Bahrain’s data talent pipeline.”
“Data Science and ML is one of the most promising fields for today’s youth, and programs like this help young and early-career talent deepen skills and advance into specialised roles,” said Marwa Al Eskafi, Director of Talent, Enterprise, and Entrepreneurship Enablement, Tamkeen. “By enrolling, Bahraini youth are positioning themselves as employees of choice – ensuring their growth and the nation’s competitiveness.”
Tamkeen’s Sector Skills Reports, launched by Skills Bahrain, confirm growing demand for analytics and ML in finance, telecom, logistics, healthcare, manufacturing, government initiatives, and more—highlighting the need to equip national talent in these fields.
All formats include hands-on projects, career coaching, and access to GA’s expert instructors and employer network. Learn more or apply at www.ga.co/BH.
