GISEC Global 2024 To Feature 2 Unusual Headline Speakers

Event Dates Are April 23 To 25

GISEC Global, the premier annual cybersecurity event in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, will feature Matt O’Neill, a former United States Secret Service Agent, and Hieu Minh Ngo, a Vietnamese cybersecurity expert, as headline speakers.

The event will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) from April 23 to 25, 2024.

O’Neill, who is celebrated for his relentless pursuit of cybercriminals, notably orchestrated the arrest and conviction of Hieu Minh Ngo, alias Hieu PC, a notorious identity theft hacker responsible for compromising the data of over 200 million Americans.

O’Neill’s strategic operation led to Ngo’s apprehension, marking a significant victory in the battle against cybercrime in the United States. The subsequent revelations from Ngo’s testimonies led to the apprehension of numerous other hackers.

Decorated with accolades, including the US Secret Service’s Special Agent of the Year Award and the Department of Homeland Security’s Gold and Silver medals, O’Neill’s legacy in cybersecurity enforcement remains unparalleled.

Cybersecurity Advocacy

In contrast, Hieu Minh Ngo’s narrative epitomises transformation and restoration. Following his incarceration, Ngo redirected his expertise towards cybersecurity advocacy, garnering recognition from tech giants like Apple and Verizon for his efforts in fortifying global digital defences.

Their much-anticipated rendezvous at GISEC Global 2024 signifies a pivotal moment in their intertwined narratives.

Their encounter at the event will offer exclusive insight into a high-stakes cyber-criminal investigation, presenting perspectives from both the pursuer and the pursued.

O’Neill said: “Sharing findings on what criminals are doing – and how they’re doing it – provides tremendous value to cybersecurity professionals tasked with protecting networks.”

Echoing his sentiments, Hieu Minh Ngo noted: “My journey from being involved in cybercrime to becoming an advocate for cybersecurity signifies the potential for broader redemption across the industry.”

DWTC’s GISEC Global 2024 will convene 20,000 attendees and 750 leading exhibitors, including Huawei, Microsoft, and Google Cloud Security.

With 350 global cybersecurity experts and 1,000 ethical hackers from 130 countries in attendance, GISEC Global 2024 is poised to spearhead collaborative efforts in combatting evolving cyberthreats in the MEA region and globally.
