Majra – National CSR Fund has unveiled a new agriculture-focused category under its “Sustainable Impact Challenge,” in a move aimed at strengthening the UAE’s agricultural sector and accelerating sustainable development nationwide.
The initiative, launched in collaboration with the National Agricultural Centre, was announced during the UAE Agricultural Exhibition and Conference 2026, where Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak witnessed the rollout.
The new category aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy to enhance food security and transition toward more efficient, sustainable agricultural systems. It is designed to support applied farming initiatives, helping them scale, improve productivity, and expand market access.
Sarah Shaw, CEO of Majra, said the initiative will prioritise projects that improve production efficiency, optimise resource use, and strengthen the competitiveness of local agriculture. She noted that the programme also aims to connect participants with a wider ecosystem that includes government entities, private sector players, academic institutions, and non-profit organisations to accelerate long-term impact.
The “Sustainable Impact Challenge” serves as a national platform for individuals and organisations to present innovative solutions addressing environmental and social challenges. It follows a structured process that includes submissions, public voting, and expert evaluation to ensure high-quality, sustainable outcomes.
Sultan Salem Al Shamsi, Director of the National Agricultural Centre, described the new category as a key step toward empowering farmers and enhancing their contribution to the country’s food supply chain. He emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between stakeholders and increased private sector engagement to improve farmers’ market access and productivity.
The agriculture category will spotlight projects that advance sustainable farming practices, improve resource efficiency, and boost output within the UAE. Selected winners will be recognised at the Impact Summit scheduled for October, with the goal of supporting their growth and wider implementation.
