Keel Comms joins United Nations Global Compact

The entity aims to play a key role during the ‘Decade of Action’

Keel Comms, a Dubai-based ‘purpose relations’ agency, has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), a voluntary leadership platform that develops, implements, and discloses responsible business practices.

Keel Comms is the first MENA-based PR agency to become a UNGC participant.

The UNGC urges companies to align their operations and strategies with 10 human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption principles and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the global body’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

With sustainability at the core of its operations, Keel Comms states that it is the only ‘purpose-driven communications agency’ in the MENA region.

Shared value

Founded upon the belief that purpose relations are the new public relations (PR), Keel aims to create shared value for governments, businesses, and communities.

Baha Hamadi, Founder and Managing Director of Keel Comms, said: “Consistent with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, we are committed to contributing to responsible business practices. Our UNGC participation aligns with the UAE’s vision for sustainability, as evident in the ongoing Year of Sustainability.”

“This move further equips us for the essential role we aspire to fulfil in empowering brands, not just in anticipation of COP28 but also within the larger framework of advancing sustainable development. Our goal is to serve as catalysts for positive change locally and globally,” Hamadi added.

COP28 will be held at the Expo City Dubai site from November 30-December 12, 2023, and is expected to be attended by more than 80,000 participants from across the globe keen to address the enormous challenge of runaway climate change and find lasting solutions that work for the benefit of the fast-warming planet and all life on it.

Given the growing global ESG movement, Keel seeks to empower brands and individuals to play an active role during the ‘Decade of Action’ and contribute to achieving the UN’s SDGs by 2030.
