Kerala Budget 2026 Statement: Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman, Aster DM Healthcare

“I congratulate the Hon Chief Minister Sri V D Satheeshan  for presenting a progressive and development-oriented Budget that seeks to strengthen the State’s long-term growth and social well-being.

Kerala has consistently demonstrated excellence in human development indicators. To build on this foundation and position the State as a global knowledge and innovation hub, I believe we  sectors deserve mission-mode focus in the coming years.

First, Healthcare. Kerala should continue to strengthen its healthcare ecosystem through investments in quality care, medical technology, digital health, preventive healthcare, research, and medical education. This will improve outcomes for citizens while enhancing Kerala’s position as a healthcare destination.

Second, Agriculture. The future of Kerala’s agriculture lies in technology-driven, sustainable, and value-added farming. Greater support for farmers, agri-entrepreneurship, food processing, and modern agricultural practices can significantly improve rural prosperity and food security.

Third, Education powered by Artificial Intelligence. Kerala has the opportunity to become India’s leading AI-enabled knowledge economy. Integrating AI, digital skills, innovation, research, and entrepreneurship into the education system will prepare our youth for the jobs and opportunities of the future.

Healthcare, Agriculture, and AI-driven Education can become the three pillars of Kerala’s next phase of growth. With a clear vision and collective commitment, Kerala can emerge as a global model for inclusive development, innovation, and human progress.”
