M42’s National Reference Laboratory (NRL) has signed a strategic partnership with Abbott to introduce advanced early cancer detection solutions in the UAE, supporting faster diagnosis and improved clinical decision-making through innovative diagnostic technologies.
The collaboration will leverage biomarker testing and multi-marker algorithm-driven analysis to strengthen the country’s diagnostic capabilities and help healthcare professionals identify cancer at earlier stages.
As part of the agreement, NRL and Abbott will launch a pilot programme focused on improving early cancer detection, reducing cancer-related mortality, and enhancing patient outcomes. The initiative is expected to pave the way for broader implementation across the UAE’s healthcare system.
The partnership aligns with the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention’s National Cancer Control Programme, which identifies early screening and diagnosis as key priorities. It also supports the objectives of UAE Vision 2031 by strengthening the nation’s oncology ecosystem and expanding access to advanced, high-quality cancer care.
Dr. Laila Abdel Wareth, CEO of National Reference Laboratory, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to cutting-edge diagnostic technologies that enable earlier diagnosis and provide clinicians with actionable insights.
She added that combining Abbott’s global expertise with NRL’s position as the UAE’s leading reference laboratory will help improve patient outcomes while reinforcing the country’s cancer care capabilities.
