OIC Assistant Secretary General Receives State Secretary

Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ambassador Askar Mussinov received in his office on 11 February 2023, Mrs. Jennifer Lee Morgan, State Secretary and Special Envoy for International Climate Action at the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany.
During the meeting, the Assistant Secretary-General stressed the importance for the OIC community of continued collaboration with Germany, known to be one of the most economically and technologically developed countries of the world, with very ambitious plans and policies in the field of environment protection. In this regard, he underscored the need for greater involvement of Germany in development, through exercising OIC mechanisms, of environmental education and environmentalist culture across the OIC area. 
The discussion also dwelt on prospects of bilateral relations between the OIC and the Federal Republic of Germany. It was agreed that in light of the forthcoming 2nd round of political consultations, particular focus shall be given to the necessity of making the interaction over environment protection matters to be the topics of discussion on the agenda of OIC-Germany relations.
