Community Development Authority has rolled out more than 12 community-focused initiatives during Ramadan 2026 as part of Dubai’s citywide “Season of Wulfa” campaign, reinforcing efforts to deepen family ties and build a more connected and compassionate society.

The programmes align with the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Year of Family, placing households at the centre of sustainable community development.

Turning Ramadan values into lasting impact

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority, said Ramadan provides an opportunity to transform spiritual values into long-term social impact.

She noted that the authority’s participation in the “Season of Wulfa” reflects a broad portfolio of initiatives designed to strengthen families, encourage shared responsibility and promote lasting social cohesion.

The programmes span awareness-driven education, humanitarian support and inclusive community platforms that promote dialogue, belonging and intergenerational connection, with a focus on improving quality of life across Dubai.

Community Majalis focus on youth engagement

A key initiative during Ramadan is “Al Qare’ Al Sagher”, implemented across CDA’s community Majalis in cooperation with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department.

Running throughout the Holy Month, the programme aims to strengthen children’s connection to the Holy Quran while developing their recitation and reflection skills in an engaging, age-appropriate environment. The initiative also reinforces cultural identity and moral values from an early age.

Ramadan dialogues for men and women

CDA is hosting “Sawalif Al Mayalis”, a series of Ramadan sessions for men focusing on family stability and social wellbeing. Discussions address parent-child relationships, the foundations of healthy families, the importance of timely family formation and the role of senior citizens within the household.

In parallel, the “Hamael Al Khair” initiative brings together women through community and religious sessions held after Taraweeh prayers. These gatherings highlight generosity, moral responsibility and the vital role women play in building resilient families.

‘Gift It Forward’ expands responsible giving

Dubai Holding has launched the third edition of the “Gift It Forward” initiative, with CDA participating as a key partner.

The initiative promotes dignified and empowerment-based philanthropy, allowing beneficiaries to select essential items within a structured and respectful framework.

This year, more than 125,000 new items will be distributed in collaboration with over 55 cross-sector partners, reflecting the scale and coordinated community impact of the programme.

For the second year, CDA is also partnering with the Dubai Charity Association on the “Khair Dubai bi Ahlaha” initiative, which highlights the role of Emirati home-based entrepreneurs who prepare Iftar meals, encouraging productive and responsible giving.

Iftar Dubai promotes coexistence

Among the flagship programmes is “Iftar Dubai”, which brings together people from different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds in a shared expression of coexistence and mutual respect.

By creating inclusive spaces for dialogue and connection, the initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to tolerance and harmonious living.

Extending community spirit into Eid

CDA’s initiatives continue beyond Ramadan with Eid-focused programmes.

The “Kanduret El Eid” initiative, implemented in cooperation with Dar Al Hay, provides children with traditional Eid attire, helping preserve cultural identity while spreading festive joy.

Meanwhile, “Fawalet El Eid” revives authentic Emirati hospitality traditions through the distribution of sweets and Arabic coffee at mosques and Eid prayer grounds across Dubai.

Through its wide-ranging Ramadan and Eid initiatives, CDA aims to position the Holy Month as a catalyst for stronger families, deeper community ties and sustained social cohesion throughout the year.
