His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, led the nation’s UAE Flag Day 2025 celebration on Monday at Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), reaffirming the UAE’s enduring unity, pride, and progress.

Organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, in collaboration with DIFC, the ceremony took place at The Gate Building, one of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks.

Honouring the Founding Fathers

Sheikh Mohammed raised the UAE flag alongside 150 students from schools across Dubai, symbolising the country’s intergenerational spirit of patriotism and unity. The Gate Building was adorned with a 15-storey artwork portraying the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum during their historic meeting in Al Khawaneej, Dubai  a pivotal moment in the nation’s formation.

The monumental artwork is part of #ZayedAndRashid, a Brand Dubai campaign now in its second year, celebrating the visionary leadership and enduring legacy of the UAE’s Founding Fathers.

“A Symbol of Pride, Dignity, and Progress”

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Mohammed said the UAE flag stands as a symbol of pride, dignity, and progress, embodying the values and achievements of a nation that continues to thrive under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

“Our flag will always represent the unity and strength of our people, and our journey of excellence will continue under our wise leadership,” Sheikh Mohammed affirmed.

He highlighted that the UAE’s continued success reflects the vision of its Founding Fathers, reinforced by the efforts of the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

Honouring a Lasting Legacy

Reflecting on the legacy of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, Sheikh Mohammed said their values of unity, development, and compassion laid the foundation of the modern UAE.

“Every citizen has a role to play in the nation’s advancement,” he noted. “True belonging is shown through dedication, discipline, and achievement. Under Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s leadership, our nation grows stronger, more prosperous, and more united every day.”

UAE Flag Day: A Celebration of Unity

Flag Day, first introduced by Sheikh Mohammed in 2013, is celebrated annually on November 3 to honour the UAE’s national flag — a powerful symbol of unity, sovereignty, and shared identity. The occasion brings together citizens and residents alike to express loyalty and pride in the UAE’s remarkable journey of progress and innovation.

Sheikh Mohammed noted that the flag continues to inspire excellence across all fields from the economy and education to science, space, and sustainability  serving as a beacon of national pride both at home and abroad.

National Month Campaign Kicks Off

This year’s Flag Day also marked the launch of the National Month campaign, which runs from November 3 until Eid Al Etihad on December 2, 2025. The campaign celebrates the UAE’s national milestones and aims to deepen the spirit of patriotism among citizens and residents through community engagement and creative initiatives.

The UAE Flag Day 2025 celebration at DIFC once again reflected the nation’s collective pride, unity, and unwavering commitment to building a future guided by the timeless principles of its Founding Fathers.
