The UAE marked the 54th Eid Al Etihad with a powerful gesture of solidarity, hosting a mass wedding for 54 grooms in the Gaza Strip as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3. The celebration, held under the theme “Thawb Al-Farah” (The Garment of Joy), aimed to bring a sense of stability and hope to young families living through one of Gaza’s most difficult periods.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s continued commitment to supporting social resilience across the region. By creating a moment of happiness for dozens of couples, the programme reinforces the belief that even in times of crisis, communities can find space for hope.
Ali Al Shihi, Head of the Emirati mission in Gaza, said the mass wedding embodies the UAE’s humanitarian approach, centred on dignity and well-being. He noted that the celebration delivers a message from Gaza’s people themselves, showing that “joy is stronger than rubble” and that optimism can grow despite the hardship surrounding them.
Al Shihi congratulated the newlyweds and expressed hope that this milestone will open the door to a more secure and promising future. He added that the event stands as a testament to Gaza’s enduring resilience and the community’s determination to embrace life in the face of daily challenges.
More than 21,000 people attended the ceremony, which featured cultural and artistic performances including traditional dabke, heritage songs, and live entertainment. The vibrant gathering offered families a rare moment of collective joy and unity during a difficult time for the region.
