UAE Issues Warning Against ‘Uranus Star’ Bottled Water Over Safety Concerns

The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) has cautioned consumers and distributors in the UAE against the use, sale, or import of Uranus Star bottled drinking water, following reports of contamination in a neighboring country.

In an official statement posted on October 10, the ministry confirmed that no import or trade permits have ever been issued for Uranus Star bottled water or any other products under the same brand. Authorities also clarified that the product has not been detected in major retail outlets across the Emirates.

The ministry said it had intensified inspection and verification measures as part of its ongoing surveillance of regional food and beverage markets. These actions were prompted by confirmed contamination reports involving Uranus Star products outside the UAE.

To ensure consumer protection, MoCCAE has initiated direct coordination with local food safety authorities in every emirate. The ministry also reaffirmed that no permits or authorizations have been granted for the brand’s entry into the country and called on anyone who may possess the product to dispose of it immediately.

“Safeguarding public health remains our top priority,” the ministry stated. “Our integrated regulatory framework operates around the clock to ensure that all food and beverage products circulating in the UAE meet the highest international safety standards.”

The ministry urged the public to remain vigilant, purchase only from verified sources, and report any suspicious or unapproved food products to local authorities.
