UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued Federal Decree No. 94 of 2026 to restructure the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, reinforcing the country’s commitment to strengthening its global humanitarian and philanthropic efforts.

Under the new decree, the council will continue to be chaired by Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The move is aimed at enhancing the council’s strategic role in managing and coordinating the UAE’s international humanitarian initiatives.

The restructured council includes several senior government officials and key leaders in the humanitarian and development sectors. Members include Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Reem Al Hashimy, Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Saeed bin Mubarak Al Hajeri, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, and Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi.

The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council was first established in January 2024 through a federal decree issued by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed. Operating under the Chairman of the Presidential Court, the council is responsible for overseeing the UAE’s international humanitarian agenda and advancing philanthropic initiatives worldwide.

The latest restructuring reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership in global humanitarian work and expand its impact across international relief and development programmes.
